OMG Lifesaver!
After a week into my Invisalign treatment I realized my fingernails stood no chance at removing my aligners. They don't tell you this at the Orthodontics office, but the aligner removal process is not as easy as it sounds. After researching online, I'm happy I came across the OrthoKey. It's sleek, compact and very effective. As a lefty, I simply place the hook end in the upper right (last molar or wisdom) for the top and bottom right (last molar or wisdom) for the lower aligner. I apply a gentle tug to loosen and they come off with ease. I also watched the tutorial video which was very helpful! Using OrthoKey is so much better than sticking my beautifully manicured brittle nails in my mouth. Thank you OrthoKey for helping me along my Invisalign Journey!

Works very well with Invisalign/attachments
This little tool is AMAZING!!! Just started Invisalign and ordered this tool right away. I got my Invisalign in and have 19 attachments and was so worried about getting the aligners out. This tool works very well. I start on the inside molars in the back on all sides and then work the tool around the front and the aligners just pop right off- and that is with attachments too. This aligner tool comes with 4 total. I keep one in my medicine cabinet, one in my aligner case, one in my purse and have another spare one in case I lose one. Could not recommend this tool more.. very easy to use.

If You Have Aligner Buttons, You Need this Update!
I thought I was rocking my new aligners-wearing them with no problem, popping them out, cleaning them, sleeping with no issue, speaking clearly. Then they put in what they jauntily call "buttons". It's more like the devil's horns. They. Are. Miserable. Devices. Now I have to get used to these awful, giant, barbed-wire protrusions. It's not so bad when the aligners are on, but when they come off, it's like I have horns on my teeth jabbing at the soft inside of my mouth. That's nothing compared to trying to get these monsters off. The aligners now snap onto the "buttons". Unfortunately, they don't just snap off. Now the aligner key makes it fairly easy to pop the aligners off the "buttons". this is great since I already broke one aligner trying to pull the aligner out of my mouth by brute force and broken finger nails. BTW, it doesn't come with the little compact that is shown in the picture, and they are very expensive for what is probably about ten cents of plastic. But they are life-savers, so I guess they are worth the money.Update: It's been three weeks since I've worn the "devil's horns". My gums have gotten used to them and I can take off the top aligner pretty easily without the hook, but the bottom aligner is still about impossible to wrench out. I. LOVE. These. Tools. Another feature I discovered is you don't smear your lipstick like you do when you are using your fingers. Hint: keep one in the car, your aligner case, at work and at home. I found myself out for lunch one day and left my case aligner on the counter at home. I about panicked because trying to wrench the bottom aligner out in a public bathroom is not a pretty sight. Thankfully I left one in the glove box. Epic save.

A Must Have for Starting Your Aligners!
I was SO relieved when I found these! My aligners came with a little tool to help remove them but it was useless. Before having them, you might not think it is so difficult to remove clear aligner "braces". I had aligners in my early 40s a couple of years before my teen did. I am glad that I did because I could never have understood how difficult and stressful it can be to get them in and out, especially the first week. Your fingernails will not hold up for long using them to pop your aligners out. If you have really short nails or are a nail biter I imagine it is near impossible. These tools are shaped just right. The end is hooked and tapered so it can get into small spaces and be used to help pop over the brackets when your aligner gets hung up on one. The loop makes it easy to twist and manipulate however you need. I definitely recommend and suggest buying some BEFORE getting your first set of aligners because waiting two days to receive them once your aligners are stuck in your mouth could be miserable.
