WOW! I’d give this mug 6 rock (pardon the pun) stars if I could! This is the PERFECT gift for a guitar player! The cute box it comes in doesn’t show what’s inside, which I appreciate! The surprise is kept until they reveal the mug - after removing all four layers of protective bubble wrap. It was actually exciting to unwrap each layer because you truly don’t know what to expect, as you could feel that it’s not your ordinary mug. And then on top of that, there’s a guitar spoon too?! What?! This set is not your typical tchotchke that your giftee will donate, regift, or put aside and forget about it. Your recipient will love it! The quality you can see and feel in person isn’t captured in photos or video. You really have to see it yourself to understand. Now here’s the best part - the musical and physical accuracy is on point!! As someone passionate about music and instruments, it’s really annoying when I see trinkets in a souvenir store that clearly are not designed by someone who knows music, yet their intentions are to be gifted to someone musical. For example, the treble clef symbol is backwards, or there are not enough lines of the staff, or the ratio of black to white keys on a piano is wrong, or the flags of a note are pointing in the wrong direction. Please don’t. That hurts my eyes…and my soul. BUT this mug…the details are amazing! If they really wanted to take it to the next level, I imagine that they would have included the dots on the frets of the guitars. (That’s asking too much now.) I’m really pleased with this! I need to order more sets for the other guitarists in my life.
